A Poor Effort From A Poor Album
An overnight commercial sensation nothing seems to be able to stand in the way of electro pops newest and most irritating duo - The Ting Tings. ‘Shut Up And Let Me Go’ is the latest single to come from the bands number one debut, which is strange because on an album consisting almost entirely of dross this stands out as being one of the worst of the bunch.
Lead singer Katie’s vocals, palatable on some of their previous efforts, seems to regress to cloyingly irritating levels of ineptitude as she gruffly chants “shut up and let me go” like a belligerent playground drama queen. It’s hideously bad to listen to, devoid of fun, intelligence and ideas, in fact it’s a real wonder anyone who has been through puberty can find anything redeeming about this sort of childish unsophisticated dross.
Destined to be massive deserving of nothing . . . if only this talentless twosome would shut up and go away.
