The Pigeon Detectives - Everybody Wants Me
After the success of their second album ‘Emergency’, the Pigeon Detectives return with a bouncy and lively second single from the album in the form of ‘Everybody Wants Me’.
As this track began I thought they were going to burst into a verse of ‘I Only Wanna be With You’ by Dusty Springfield, which broke my heart. As it turns out the lads haven’t lost their marbles and started doing ridiculous covers of such classic tunes, they just have a similar opening with this single; my heart quickly mended. This indicative underlying bass riff continues through the track, but the dominant guitar riffs kick the track up a notch.
With the chanting of ‘Everybody Wants Me’ through the chorus you would think the guys were irresistible. Well, as tempting as they may seem, they are not irresistible but do however make a decent tune. This is yet another great tune from the Leeds quintet.
