Biffy Clyro • Mountains

The Scots are back and Biffy Clyro is releasing another track in the form of ‘Mountains’. In the past the band have been occasionally characterised by a heavy sound, with a melodic mix of guitar, bass and drums. This one however sees a slightly softer side to the Scotsmen.

‘Mountains’ begins really soft and gentle, but quickly kicks up. The vocals are drained with energy. The “I am a mountain, I am the sea, you can’t take that away from me” makes a perfect chorus line. When all the elements, music, lyrics and vocals come together to form ‘Mountains,’ the track takes on an angry atmosphere, but in such a way that the anger isn’t slicing through the material but pushing past it, the music has more an emotional side of anger than a physical one.

As far this track goes, it puts on a bright side to an angry front and washes away all your problems.
