Immune's latest Ep

When I was first approached with this record I didn’t know what to expect. So, I popped it into the stereo and hit the play button.

The first thing I came across was the heavy influenced ‘Adrift’, which may contain a mellow verse, but hits back with a kicking chorus. The accompanying vocals are very reserved in the verses but quite held back with power and energy with the chorus, as if singing with clenched teeth. As we drift towards ‘Tainted’ we get a much lighter atmosphere that gives tingles as if the beginning of a storm and you feel the approaching darkened clouds. This analogy is the path for the remained of tracks, like a change in weather and atmospheric conditions. As this track persists the sun heads behind the clouds, the rumbles of thunder begin and vocals shudder.

As ‘Since You Went Away’ draws closer, it transmits a more Good Charlotte ‘Chronicles of Life and Death’ styling that brightens the day, withering the dark clouds and lightening the rain. Outside you smell the wet grass and splash in a few puddles as the rainbow beams above you. The sun continues to beam over ‘Radiant’ with the piano opening and a gentle breeze wiping away any signs of a rainy day. But like always, the British Weather is unpredictable and the wind worsens towards the end of the track.

As we hit the concluding track ‘Nothing To Lose’, the band sings, the hard-hitting downpour blasts in, rain splashes and the clouds become darker than we have ever seen them. The verse speeds up to an explosive chorus, which as the harmonious “yeah” spreads, lightens the downpour and ends on a soggy note.

As you can tell, this is a remarkable album with an emotional roller coaster of a ride.
