This video wont kill the radio star

Music is pleasure for the ears but every once in a while we get something for our eyes too. The Lights have sent us a DVD of their single ‘The Score’ so the least we could do was give it a spin.

There are moments in the video where the viewer is reminded of Blondie but only because they made some poor videos as well. And at least they were using 1970s equipment when they did so, The Lights don’t really have this excuse available to them. Sure most bands release videos they are a great promotional tool but the DVD we received had the video and nothing else. If it’s a DVD release you’d have to hope for a bit more but there is no mention of anything here. The thing is, the band isn’t visually striking or worth staring at and the video is…well…it thinks it’s a lot cleverer than it really is.

Still, what about the music, well, R13 reviewed ‘The Score’ very recently and didn’t think too much of it then. It’s pretty mainstream and average and this opinion hasn’t changed just because there is a video attached to it now.

Its pretty unlikely that fans of The Lights would want to watch this DVD that often so its probably best for everyone else to avoid.
