Nicely re-packaged.

Sounding something like Bloc Party before they became another dreary electro casualty, Scottish five piece The Vivians have a rock and roll beat mixed with a high energy, fuzzy, almost punk edge. “A Human Angle” is catchy, danceable and entertaining and although it’s not wholly original, (bringing to mind plenty of other bands throughout) it’s not so familiar that you can pick out overused riffs or melodies. The Vivians seem to transcend the familiar by riding time periods and genres with ease, borrowing the best bits from all of them along the way and spewing it all out in to a coherent package at the other end. The single has two tracks packed with frenetic drumming, staccato guitars, emotional vocals and plenty of attitude, and there is a freshness to their sound that comes from the amount of energy so obviously invested in these tunes.
