Ex-Bluetones man returns to show his sensitive side
Good acoustic rock is difficult to come by, but the second single from Memory Muscle looks promising. Featuring a memorable chorus and perfectly harmless lyrics, this deserves all the attention it can get. Starting off quiet, it gradually builds into a ‘kitchen sink’ song complete with orchestra, synths… you name it, pretty much. It’s a song that grows on you the more you listen. It’s very relaxed and laid-back, a far cry from Morriss’ roots in the Bluetones. So maybe it won’t be a hit with the existing fans, but it’s guaranteed to win him some new ones. Ambitious, sensitive, and melancholy all at the same time, if you like this it’s worth checking out the album.
