Attempting To Take You Out Of This World
Living up to their name, Australia’s Midnight Juggernauts look set to sneak up and completely obliterate everyone’s party as their retro synths flay all from limb to limb. Its been a steady road for the Melbourne three piece, gradually building a fan base that is suddenly multiplying like rabbits as the band’s quintessential pop tracks ram home a party mood, and with ‘Into The Galaxy’ it just so happens that the party is in outer space.
With a synth drenched opening that blooms gradually into an intoxicatingly heady mix of shimmery beats, ‘Into The Galaxy’ is literally out of this world. Boldly wearing their influences on their retro sleeves for all to scrutinize, ‘Into The Galaxy’ brings a touch of ELO to proceedings, topping off the synth heavy instrumentation with some Bowie meets Roxy Music, as theatrically robotic spoken lyrics puncture every line. But Midnight Juggernaut aren’t all about capturing that retro feel, as they attempt to seduce your ears with a futuristic wave; a sound that promises you a good time if you only fall under their spell, well, for the summer anyway. A summer track to head to another galaxy with, or at the very least to drown out the noise of the rain.
