Indie-pop.
Teen-indie-pop all girl four piece Poppy & The Jezebels have always had a really defined sound for ones so young; this single is the epitome of that sound, bouncy pop with a 60s flavour and very strong British accents. On this single the strong melody from the vocals is backed up by keyboards, drums, guitar and surprisingly, some excellent Theremin work weaves its way throughout. The double girl vocals are sweet but crystal clear and the beats might be basic but they’re effective none the less. Overall this is a pleasingly catchy pop song with plenty of underground indie appeal - what’s not to like?
