Catchy Psychedelic Rock
Previously serving under the name Mainline, Irish psychedelic noise merchants The Brothers Movement have released new track, 'Mary Jane' for free download ahead of the release of their debut album. 'Mary Jane' is a giddy mix of heady, hallucinogenic psych rock that bathes the listener in a sea of glowing noise, and rolling rock vigour. Compared to the other tunes sported on the band's website, 'Mary Jane' is one of the most conventional and gives a firm nod to groups like Jesus and Mary Chain, and the cocky cool of Primal Scream. Sly guitar melodies thread their way through the overflowing sound while the vocal line keeps things simple and catchy.
If you're a fan of colourful psych rock this may be compulsive listening and is a great introduction to a promising band.
