Happy happyirony-free eighties pop,

Maybe we’ve all been watching too much ‘Ashes to Ashes’, but the eighties seem to be back in vogue. No more so than in Alphabeat’s happy pop world. And I never thought I’d say this, but it’s a very good thing. Ok, if you’re not into chirpy pop or electronic beats avoid this like you would the plague, but you’ll have to get used to it eventually because it’s going to be on the radio for, well, ever.

This really wouldn’t sound out of place on a Bananarama record, seriously. A happy irony-free zone, even the most stoic miserablist will probably be kicking off their shoes and dancing to this infectious little ditty. One small point: Alphabeat are now a handful of singles and a top-ten album into their career. Time for a new album sometime soon? You can never have too much of a good thing.
