dEUS - Eternal Woman
The present album from dEUS has already given us some great songs, but things are a little slower with their new mellow single ‘Eternal Woman’.
This song is so gentle that I found it very difficult to get into. The ground work consists of a placid and quite acoustic style rhythm. The vocals are fronted by a male presence, which glides mildly along the acoustic guitar. The female presence is just like a whisper of an effect, so much so that unless you are actually listening thoroughly and intently, it may sound just like a hazy background tone for much of the song.
The chorus is not one which you can sing-a-long to or find much pleasure in singing, but it does have a warming effect; “E-T-E-R-N-A-L, Eternal woman are you listening well? E-T-E-R-N-A-L, Eternal woman are you breaking this spell?”
Unless you are one for leisurely slow tunes that take no effort or emotion in listening to, I’m not sure you'll enjoy this one.
