Move

Despite second album, "Donkey", failing to hit the heights of its predecessor there is still much to adore from CSS. Delve in deeper, past the apathetic reviews and new single "Move" still features the same sort of addictive electro-pop that gave the Brazilian outfit such notoriety. The naïve, child-like freedom remains, personified by lead singer Lovefoxxx, and it typifies the band’s output to date.

The heady concoction of spindly synths, nonchalant bass and Lovefoxxx’s impulsively seductive vocals barely register alone but combine for a fresher, tighter sound. With so few bands adept at such anorexic rhythms it comes as little surprise that the taut spiralling guitar riff has already been heard on various sports shows for months.

Favouring restraint rather than release, CSS appear to neglect their impulses. But some traits are harder to shake off, thankfully "Move" may just amount to one of those rarities; a choon set for the dancefloor without the need for remixing. Let’s keep things that way shall we?
