‘Say It Like You Mean It’ is the third single to be released from the Pigeon Detectives second album ‘Emergency’ and is yet again another splash of delight.
This song does not have the same charm and contagiously bouncy rhythms that the previous singles ‘This Is An Emergency’ and ‘Everybody Wants Me’ had; those two tracks were incredibly sing-a-long friendly and you could listen to them repeatedly and still find them stimulating. On my first listen I found this song very plain, maybe a little dull. But while I write this review and listen to the song time and time again, I found ‘Say It Like You Mean It’ to still be bubbly with striking melodies and an electric solo chiming in at the right moment to stand out. My mind and lips began joining in with the lively chorus lyrics.
This is definitely one to listen to a few times before passing judgment…
