Metal Church
Is it the eighties again? I’ve got my hi-tops and denim jacket, with an Iron maiden patch sown on and Metal Church are rockin’ it on stage! Times are good in the eighties, so good it seems that we keep looking back! This is true to say about Metal Church, their sound is undeniably old skool. 'This Present Wasteland', Metal Church’s latest offering, see’s them with singer number four in the shape of former Far cry vocalist Ronny Munroe. Monroe’s vocals are very similar to Rob Halfords and therefore prove to be a good fit for Metal Church.
Metal Church have never really been leaders of the pack, with bands like Metallica, Judas priest and Iron Maiden Overshadowing them. So what would you expect to hear from veterans whose career spans 27 long years? Well a pretty awesome old skool metal album, that’s got me, reminiscing about the “good ole’ days”. When men were men, wearing a lot of studded leather and singing far too high! So what it’s cheesy and it sticks to the old formulas. It’s just a good old fashion listen for you old skool metalheads out there. Get your fist pumping and prepare to lose your mind to some awesome metal.
There’s nothing new to be found here, but if you’re a fan of Judas priest, Iron Maiden and Metallica(the more melodic stuff, not the heavy bits I'm afraid) then this is the album you’ve been looking for. A return to form with their classic sound, you know where I can be found every Sunday? Yep that’s right, METAL CHURCH!
