Land Of Talk - The Man Who Breaks Things
Canadian indie rockers Land Of Talk release their second single, 'The Man Who Breaks Things', from their impressive debut album 'Applause Cheer Boo Hiss'. 'The Man Who Breaks Things' starts with a snare drum role before the guitars come in and joined by front person, Elizabeth Powell whose melodic vocals are joined throughout of that of bassists Joe Yarmush.
Despite the tune staying largely the same for the whole 2 minutes and 36 seconds of this song, it is catchy enough to keep the toes and rest of feet tapping away. The song finishes as it started with a rather excitable snare drum, played by Eric Thibodeau, who completes this Montreal trio’s line up.
Many great things have been said about Land Of Talk and on this evidence they may well produce the goods. Has to be said that there are plenty of bands doing the same thing these days so will be interesting to see how they fare against the likes of our very own Sky Larkin.
