'The End Of The Line' is just the beginning
Written just a few months ago, Gunner SGT, are offering some of their most inspired and personally proud work to date on their new Ep release, ‘The End Of The Line’.
This London based trio have a knack when creating something catchy, tough and yet enjoyable. There are three tracks on this release. First is ‘Dirty Gunners’, a song that has a running beat that subtly lies underneath the pounding drums, but breaks through for an electric solo mid centre. The second track, ‘Rebel In Jess’ begins with a rather impressive country sound, but develops to a six minute gently flowing rock tune with yet another star electric solo. The concluding tune ‘Step Fall’ is more hardcore than the previous two tunes combined. The guitars are sharper and the roughness of the vocals is quite evident.
The vocals on these songs may not be able to break though with precision and elegance, but their style suits the songs perfectly; rugged and coarse. It is quite difficult to sum up a band, and have an opinion after only hearing three tracks, but I like what I hear and would love to hear more.
