Average pop-rock.
Innerpartysystem have discovered their favourite formula and they’re sticking to it; this is again a heavy duty fusion of rock and electro distortion however, it’s much more straightforward and poppy than their last single ‘Die Tonight, Live Forever’ and therefore it ends up sounding like Linkin Park or any one of a dozen other dance/pop-rock bands of that type. It really tries to be original and different but isn’t. It is however hugely danceable as well as being huge in sound; so it has the kind of noise that you can imagine going down well at festivals or in stadiums.
Track two, ‘Redemption’ is even more melodic and is pretty much just a dance track with throbbing, squidgy beats and a decent tune. Again, as with their last single, if Pendulum, later day NIN or 80s electro-pop are your thing this will probably hold your attention.
