Ripping The Volume Button Off
Taken from their latest album, ‘Head Stunts’, ‘So Long’ finds The Datsuns back in all their visceral, in your face glory.
Short but most definitely not sweet, ‘So Long’ blasts out of the starting blocks faster than a pap chasing Amy Winehouse through the streets of London, as the New Zealanders thrust their aggression packed offering firmly in your face with sheer delight. Punching with shouty vocals that stab recklessly, ‘So Long’ is a two minute bombardment of thundering riffs that crunch with glee, colliding with a punk ethos that balances on the fine line between metal and rock with irresponsible ease. Tipping the arrogant scales whilst simultaneously yanking the volume button way past maximum, ‘So Long’ is loud, confident and brilliantly in your face, proving that whatever the travel agents may make us believe, things are most definitely not relaxed and calm in New Zealand much to our benefit and delight.
