The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

They may have formed less than two years ago, but already The Asteroids Galaxy Tour have supported Amy Winehouse on their debut gig and look to do great things with their debut album ‘Fruit’.

If you fancy giving a listen to music described as “psychedelic pop pleasure packed full of catchy, funky gems and soulful gorgeous ballads” then ‘Fruit’ may be the option you have been seeking.

The statement above is the Pr’s attempt at astounding a reader with a well-rounded and diverse description of the album, but it is actually pretty accurate. The tracks have their roots firmly planted in pop of big bouncy sounds with a fun atmosphere but they have a classy side with some tones that really shine. ‘The Golden Age’ for example is a song that has a big presence; their debut single ‘The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine No More’ is quite flashy while ‘Bad Fever’ adds a little punch and attitude in its step. Some songs diverge from this; ‘Hero’ includes trumpets and a softer sound with a prolonged inner touch; ‘Satellite’ is rather spaced out in its twinkle-glory yet they still have class; the acoustic side of ‘Crazy’ is quite settled and dreamy, with a sunny side which grows though the trumpets while the opener ‘Lady Jesus’ takes the tempo down and is quite a soulful number.

Vocalist Mette Lindberg is quite a kooky singer and looks set to give Duffy a run for her money with her unique talent. This debut gives a fun loving, easy to listen to and quite catchy array of songs that emit a freedom the pop charts have been lacking while consolidates a funky edge the music industry in general will appreciate.
