Not Their Year
A year ago they packed the Radio One stage to capacity and we described them as the hope of British rock. Coming a long way since their May 2002 breakthrough appearance at Ozzfest, the band are now playing their third consecutive Carling Weekend.
Since last year’s Carling Weekend they’ve toured the country promoting a new album and added more songs to their repertoire. It does, however, also seem to mean that they’ve lost some of the older fanbase as ‘If I Could’ and ‘Falter’ ring out through Bramham Park the crowd seem almost half asleep and silent when asked to sing along. Something seems to have gone wrong somewhere along the way with their meteoric rise to fame – but for no apparent reason.
Playing with as much energy and enthusiasm as any band could be asked for – it seems that, perhaps, 2004 was not destined to be the year of Hundred Reasons after all. Shame really as they’re bloody brilliant.
