We Found Axl!
As a substitute for Hoobastank, The Glitterati first caught my attention at this year’s Evanescence tour. Since that date, the band’s profile has been growing to the extent that people are either loving or hating the band – something normally attributed to much larger bands.

Today, however, is different – it’s a homecoming for the local boys who have returned to Leeds. Over the last few months the band have gained something – star quality. They no longer seem to be walking out to a stage that dwarfs them – instead they dwarf the stage with their presence.

As I’m stood watching I cannot help but think that if Guns n’ Roses had been born fifteen years later and in Leeds then Axl Rose would have in fact become the current front-man of The Glitterati. Their stage presence and performance is second to none as they reel of a selection of good, old-fashioned, dirty rock that even Slash would be proud of.

For those of you looking to The Darkness for a modern Axl and Slash then maybe you should turn you heads towards The Glitterati – a Guns n’ Roses for 2004.
