Something for Everyone

There is something very wrong with Download this year - as people across the site all try to pack in to the small Napster Stage it would have made much more sense to put Breed 77 on the Snickers Stage. Thankfully, despite the cramped conditions, this only helps to create at atmosphere like no other set.

Gibraltarians playing metal on classical Spanish guitars is such a fantastic idea that you almost wonder why more bands don't do it. For those of you that have had your head stuck in the sand for the past 18 months - Breed 77 sound nothing short of awesome. The band's vocals sound slightly reminiscent of Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) singing to a power metal riff that is being strummed out on classical Spanish guitars. Awesome.

As the tent fills up the crowd gradually become deafening between songs as they scream for Breed 77 who don't disappoint. The band reel out what can only be described as a perfect set.

With so many influences in their music and such diversity in their live performances it is no wonder that they're attracting such a diverse crowd. As their set comes to a close with a sea of crowd surfers the tent empties with hundreds of ecstatic faces.

Breed 77 will be playing the RoomThirteen.com sponsored Bloodstock Open Air Festival later in the month.
