Not What You'd Expect

A band that are relatively unheard of within the UK, have tonight graced the stage of Wolverhampton's Civic Hall. To most people, the ideal first support band for Evanescence would seem to be something calm with elements of pop that could be marketted to the average thirteen-year-old Evanescence fan. There is a keyboard on stage - this is probably going to be a pop act most people think. Apartment 26 are having none of this.

The keyboard is used throughout all their songs and actually fits in really well. Sporting a rather cool hat, the keyboard player seems to be from a different band - yet funnily enough it works far better than it should seem to.

From the moment they start their first song, until they leave the stage later in the night, the set is full of musical surprises that validate this bands credibility. They have previously toured with the UK Ozzfest 2001, and are due to release another album shortly - definatley worth looking out for.

The songs contain rich juxtaposition between elements of heavey metal and softer more meolodic aspects. The crowd seem to really enjoy the set, as do three female groupies when they are invited on to stage to jump around and scream a bit. All in all - a band worth checking out.
