Shout it loud, another great guitar pop act.

With an imminent release of their UK debut album, the Shout Out Louds brought their pleasant pop style to Glasgow and a small but expectant crowd.

Playing current single 'The Comeback' as early as the second song, and without it becoming the best song of the night, shows the strength in depth of the songs available. Whilst the forthcoming release is the band's UK debut, they have been around in Sweden since 2001 and their set indicates a confidence and belief in their own sound.

The vocals are reminiscent of early 1980's Cure or The Arcade Fire, which should help the band find favour with current musical trends. However, the music found within the set touches upon many genres and the variety of songs played was a pleasant surprise.

Although one or two sound and monitor problems halted the early flow of the gig, the band quickly found their rhythm and the set seemed far too short. With the drums sounding extremely sharp and the keyboard and percussion riffs being a perfect accompaniment to the guitar and bass lines, the band were a tight unit which had the crowd enthralled all night. Even when keyboard player Bebban appeared with an accordion; the crowd cheered their approval at the pleasing, yet rare sight.

Announcing their fondness for Glasgow bands such as Teenage Fanclub, the Shout Out Louds indicated their own musical heritage and their desire to please. It would have been difficult to find any dissatisfied watchers at the end of the show.
