Where Metal Should Be
I don't generally give 5s when I'm reviewing unless I'm extremely impressed. Suffice to say, I'm gobsmacked. I was quite looking forward to tonight's Evanescence tour, as I knew that Hoobastank were supporting - a band that I've fancied seeing for the last couple of years. Once I heard they were supporting tonight I was quite happy. I was a bit shocked when they didn't appear, and a band that I'd never heard before (only heard of) appears on stage.
"We are The Glitterati!" is announced. At this point I take a note as I'm already planning on finding out more about this band. Originally hailing from Leeds - they are what the UK scene is missing - good metal! Short and simple.
They're right when they say that they're probably not what is expected; Hoobastank would have seemed much more at place during an Evanescence tour - yet they manage to make the majority of Wembley go crazy, something which most 2nd support acts simply cannot do.
You don't see enough Les Pauls in metal. Why? Because generally bands cannot make it work - yet The Gliteratti pull it off seamlessly - adding to their unique blend of harmonically pleasing metal. They've converted me tonight. You MUST see this band. The Glitterati is where metal should be.
