You've Been Lied To are a five piece band centred around meaty vocalist Choff that produce a hard as nails performance that's just full of energy. Musically they fall into the full on hardcore metal category and at times are reminiscent of Killswitch Engage.
With some monster riffs on tracks like 'Words Fail Me' the sound is big and the whole band throw themselves into the performance. Big guy that he is, Choff commands the stage right from the start and turns in a compelling display with gritty and aggressive vocals. The two guitars of Dan P and Andy cancel each other out somewhat in terms of any intricacies being audible but together they produce a crushing wall of sound and the overall impression certainly leaves an imprint.
It's early days of a long weekend but it's a shame they didn't get a bigger turnout as they easily give the performance of the day thus far. On the strength of today's performance You've Been Lied To have plenty more to offer and in the confines of a small club venue they could well tear the roof off!
