Swedish Indie Punk
Right so we all know that playing support slots in venues where the sound is not perfect is a tricky task at times, and in such situations any form of mass audience participation or large scale responses from another band's fans is a sign you're really flying, and not getting either is not necessarily a reason to suggest that you're crap.
It took me a while to warm to Love Is All, and I wasn't alone in this as although their energetic indie punk rock seemed well suited for a support slot with Maximo Park, those paying attention took some convincing.
The shrill, in ya face vocal performance of Josephine Olausson was reminiscent of the Go! Team, although her voice was harsher on the ear. Her band mates with her made for an impressive unit, had they been in a smaller venue with the sound not echoing around then this may have come across better.
The Swedish act's current single, the slightly softer 'Make Out, Fall Out, Make Up' appeared towards the end of the set and was a definite stand out track, you can watch it's video
HereHowever this was one of few to live long in the memory.
When judging a performance the surroundings have to be taken into account, however there is an argument to say that real quality should shine through regardless. On this evidence I need to be convinced that Love Is All really have that.
