Careful with that axe

The Cut joined the swelling ranks of West Yorkshire bands when they emerged in 2003 and they have made steady progress ever since.

They aren't fazed by an early slot on the bill and deliver a performance full of energy and drive. If anything there is a little too much posturing and finger pointing from guitarist and vocalist Alex Krzesinski but you can't blame him for trying to make an impression, you never know who's in the crowd at In The City!

The songs centre around punchy rhythms and feature some good bass work alongside simple but very effective drums. Set highlights come with 'Another One Falls Down' and the final track 'The Late Room', which is by far the best track and something of an anthem. They are a little one paced at times but there is plenty to build on and they blend elements of rock, indie and funk to solid effect.
