Blowing away the competition
It's amazing how little known Philadelphian post-hardcore five piece Mewithoutyou still are in the UK, considering how bloody good they are and the fact that they have three albums under their belt. Needless to say, the majority of the sold out crowd in The Great Hall tonight are here to see the main event, Brand New, so they either look a bit bemused or stare blankly at the band; luckily though, Mewithoutyou are as always totally professional and play a brilliant show.
Tonight their set consists mainly of tracks from new album "Brother, Sister" with the odd track from album number two "Catch For Us The Foxes" thrown in to the mix; all melodic and quirky yet heavy guitar driven tracks played with a massive amount of energy and passion. Front man Aaron Weiss leaps about like a hyperactive kid at the front of the stage and seems lost in a world of his own at times, he's rivetting to watch and obviously impresses, because they manage to win over quite a large section of the audience by the end of their unfortunately short set. Hopefully after such a good performance they've managed to gain themselves a batch of new fans.
