Warm Summer Offerings
Friday's Download line up gets a second dose of feel good rock in the form of Hinder on the main stage. With the sun shining down, their groovy feel good rhythms produce head nods and smiles all round despite the occasional sound problems.
"Bliss (I Don't Wanna Know)" starts off with a croon before a meaty bassline kicks the song into overdrive and provides vocalist Austin Winkler with support for his roughed-up American rock voice.
The crowd are eager to participate when the band attempt to get the crowd clapping along- there's something friendly and inviting about Hinder and their music, a kind of warmth radiating from the Oklahoma band that compliments the weather. Next single "Lips Of An Angel" is played with some amongst the crowd singing along. Hinder move effortlessly between radio-friendly rock (and they're certainly clocking up the radio plays at the moment!) and something with a little more bite.
"Get Stoned" is the highlight of the set and causes approving cheers to break out amongst those gathered around the main stage and passers-by who have stopped to investigate. Hinder are a band that manage to bring a smile to most peoples lips and their latest album, "Extreme Behaviour" will be the soundtrack to many a BBQ this summer. If you're a fan of Alterbridge, this could be your band of the year.
