A Giant Sheep?!
Bowling for Soup are a band like few others. They are one of the few bands that I can still watch and actually just get a great sense of fun from. Their songs don't try to change the world and they're not Metallica when it comes to solos – but they do happen to be one of the best live bands you'll ever get the chance to see live.
Bowling for Soup are almost impossible to watch without a smile on your face – whether it's in a small venue with 200 other people or outside with 50,000 other people. Today, it's the latter. The Main Stage is packed with people here for Bowling for Soup.
With a set packed full of hits such as "Bitch Song", "Punk Rock 101", "Emily" and "High School Never Ends" – it is pretty difficult to not know a single song the band play and it's actually the case that it seems everyone knows most of them.
Their set also features a giant sheep appearing on the stage for no reason other than "We fucked an inflatable sheep with a banana last time at Download, so we wondered what else we could do". It's not just the band that are great fun though – but also the crowd with one member literally surfing in a boat on top of the crowd, Rammstein style, only to have the band make up a song about him.
Bowling for Soup are an excellent watch and really should be part of every festival. They return to the UK in October with Bloodhound Gang for a tour.
