Guilty Pleasure
Whether you love them or hate them, you can't argue that The Feeling have the ability to make a lot of people in a field happy. Their set at V last year drew one of the biggest crowds at the lower end of the Channel 4 Stage line-up, and here at the Isle of Wight, two down from Main Stage headliners Snow Patrol, The Feeling were at it again.
Hit singles 'Fill My Little World', 'Rosé' and 'Never Be Lonely' were extremely well received early in the set, encouragingly from the band's point of view so was new track 'Join With Us'.
There was something of an unusual cover version game going on at this year's Isle of Wight Festival, with Paolo Nutini doing a Jungle Book number and James Morrison tackling 'The Seed' by the Roots, and the Feeling got the ball rolling by playing an excellent version of the Buggles classic (all one of them admittedly) 'Video Killed the Radio Star'.
The Feeling faithful got the chance to exercise their vocal chords with 'Sown', before the set was rounded off with 'Love It When You Call'.
Some view the Feeling's music as weak and a bit dull, however it's certainly very effective at an event such as the Isle of Wight Festival.
