Clocks
Clocks are a four piece from London, Epsom to be precise. They start with catchy single 'All I Can', a feel good track with nice riffs and a bouncy rhythm.
It is clear that this band has a knack of producing, catchy, happy songs, but you just can't help feel that you have heard it all before. Nice harmonies, which become more evident when they get to the Brit-poppy 'That Much Better', in the way that it could be a softer, more harmonic Blur tune, and that the end riff is similar to Oasis' 'The Importance Of Being Idle'.
As mentioned, the harmonies are nice, with the drummer making it a three way system at times. However it's noticeable that they are a very nervous band, who almost seem too shy to play and are awkward, almost as if they all want to hide behind the drummer. Clocks appear to have some nice songs, but that's all they are, a 'nice' sounding band. And do we really need another 'Magic Numbers'?
