Shibby live at the Camden Underworld

Shibby recently released the Ep 'Blurring the Edges' and are now touring with various bands to get their music heard. I got my first taste of Shibby back in June when they supported Elliot Minor. At the Underworld, the lads may have taken a smaller stage and a smaller audience but refused to give anything but a large, boisterous and entertaining performance.

The atmosphere was set alight; fans got rowdy and the band ready to perform; what a performance it was. The threesome were hyped up and got up close and personal with the fans. So in fact that one young lady had to duck when a bass went spinning and another couldn't look bassist Matt in straight in the face.

The music was loud, but no so that vocals couldn't be understood. What makes Shibby stand out from the other wannabe rockers is their joint vocal ability from Matt and Sean. Each takes their turn to wow the fans with rocketing vocal chords. One thing must be said these two, boy can they hold a note. Sean's "falling..." was unbelievable to all.

The concentration and enthusiasm that these three gave was incredible. Drummer Loz gave it his all with pounding rhythms, Matt rode the bass while guitarist Sean gave some terrific riffs and rhythms, and spins like no other. They tried very hard to get the fans involved with familiar songs as well as some new ones like the next single 'Faint Smile'. Their adaptation of +44's 'When Your Heart Stops Beating' was one song that drove the crowd into full pledge mayhem with its sharp guitars.

With their brilliant instrumentals, radiant performances and remarkable vocals, Shibby have made a name for themselves as a support act, now it is time to hit out and hit it big. Watch out for them!
