JP Jones at the Sheperds Bush Empire with the Hoosiers
There has been very little written about this young man, but one thing I do know for certain is that he has some very original and classy abilities behind him.
JP Jones is a talented South Wales lad who has a dream of being Wales’ answer to the likes of Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne. Her certainly has the capability of doing so, and may achieve his dream with some dedication and hard work; anything is possible.
Opening for an act such as the Hoosiers may have been a bad move since the two perform very different styles of music. He did how put on a very entertaining set. The music he performs is basically acoustic with a folksy layer on top. The acoustic value comes from the guitar with some soft drums. There is however, an upbeat system to the music he is playing. One track that certainly stood out was ‘Gracey Jane’. The vocals showed much passion and had a zealous nature about them.
The stage presence of this talented musician is pretty much non-existent. This could be because he is playing guitar and feels it necessary to remain in a constant position, which is completely understandable. The music is quite tranquil and consists more of the songs you would rather sit and listen to than get up and move along with.
JP Jones is currently making a solo folksy country album, so this may explore his talents in more detail than concert hall full of individuals dressed as Superheroes would allow.
