Tonight Is Goodbye live at the Islington Bar Academy

I first heard about Tonight Is Goodbye while bored and flipping through page after page of bands and musicians on myspace, some signed some not. I didn’t realise there was so much unnoticed potential just floating around cyberspace. After being impressed by their music I downloaded there four track Ep ‘The Birds And The Bees’. After loving the music, I was delighted to hear they were playing a little venue close by, Islington Bar Academy, supporting another band with hidden talents, Enjoy Destroy.

Tonight Is Goodbye is made up of five wild lads who began on their path of success in Buckinghamshire about three years ago. Their music consists of indie, rock, emo and pop elements while their performances containing all this but enough teenage antics, powerful and vigorous movements and energetic styles to mesmerise a crowd.

Vocalist Ant West puts on quite a performance. While George is banging away on his drums, Thomas, Callum and Casey bounce away in the background and Ant is centre of attention belting out some amazing songs such as ‘Beauty And The Beast’, ‘You And Your Tune’ and ‘Black Dress’. Their entire set was personal, intimate and simply put, outstanding. You could see from the passionate and excited expressions on the face of each band member, and the nervous disposition that occasionally swept over a few of them, that they were enjoying entertaining the crowd just as much as the crowd were excited about watching them. After a much-appreciated set, it was wonderful to see the guys chatting to the fans about their music and just generally thanking them for their support. Not many bands do this so a great job well done all round.
