BSP Close The Festival on the Ents 24 Stage
British Sea Power closed the Ents 24 Stage on the Sunday night, and initially get a small turn out. Crowd numbers do grow however as the set progresses. It is threatening to rain at any moment though, plus they are competing with The Australian Pink Floyd Show on the main stage, and judging by the amount of Floyd T-shirts spotted around the site, it seems tribute band action is preferred over a spot of quirky alternative rock.
Famous for novel props, this time we’re treated to a Croatian flag, plus nautical flags draped over the amps.
Their set gives a decent taster of current album ‘Do You Like Rock Music?’, with single ‘No Lucifer’ going down especially well.
Fan favourites ‘Remember Me’, ‘Carion’ and the fantastically anthemic ‘Please Stand Up’ get an airing, all three have the expansive sound to justify BSP’s position as second stage headliner at a festival this size.
They’re a band who like to go out in style, with set closer ‘Rock In A’ stretching for almost fifteen minutes. An impressive way to round off a decent stage topping performance.
