Tonight Is Goodbye at Kings College Student's Union
It is always an enjoyable experience to see Tonight Is Goodbye play live for they put as much thought, consideration and energy in their small set on a minute stage, as bands that have been dominating the world for a decade or more put into a large headline tour at venues like Hammersmith Apollo or Wembley Arena.
This performance at the Kings College was no exception. The band showed their appreciation to fans that bought the recent record ‘Castles’, encouraged them to sing a long, but I don’t think they were bargaining on numerous adolescents storming the stage; they handled it pretty well though.
The lads took to the stage singing tracks such as ‘Lucky Boy’ and ‘Noughts and Crosses’ from ‘Castles’ as well as ‘Criminal’ and ‘Black Dress’ from ‘The Birds and the Bees’, but it was the bands recent hit ‘Brain’ that got the fans psyched up and ready to rock and roll.
This was an outstanding set and the bands performance was energy driven, enjoyable and insightful into what they can do on a small scale; imagine a bigger stage! The only concern that I had over performance, was Ant’s favouring of the left side of the stage, what about us on the right…
