Sons of Albion at the Camden Barfly

Since the bands formation this time last year, Son’s of Albion seem to have been working non-stop to create a name for themselves in the music industry. They have played a number of shows across Europe and the UK, including support slots alongside Black Stone Cherry, Velvet Revolver, Lenny Kravitz, The Datsuns, & The Who. Recently they have been taking to the stage alongside Canterbury, The Hot Melts and This City on a UK tour, winding down at the Barfly in Camden.

You often see the energetic expressions that musicians convey when on stage performing, doing something they love. When it comes to being captivated by the music you are creating, becoming exhilarated and entranced by your own creations, Son’s of Albion lead singer Logan has drifted into space. His movements on stage while opening up tonight’s set at the Barfly’s were nothing short of hypnotic. His arms swaying through the air, his legs bandy and free, moving up and down and from one side of the small stage to the other. He was in a trance, feeling the music pulsating though him and towards the crowd who were revved up and ready to enjoy a night of excellent music, which we got.

While up on stage entertaining, Logan’s vocals were a little low to be able to understand full the meaning behind the song, or even the lyrical content in them. This however, never stopped the band from giving a vigorous performance through many songs, including the bands single ‘Take A Look’, which is due for release at the end of the month, yet can be downloaded free from the bands myspace now.

They create British rock with depth and an inner attitude, which the music scene hasn’t experienced for a while; Son’s of Albion are a band to watch out for.
