Joint tour with Attack! Attack!
It seems as though the crowds that Tonight is Goodbye are gathering is increasing in each time I see them live. On this occasion they return to Islington’s Bar Academy, where they supported Enjoy Destroy back in April last year, on a joint tour with Welsh band Attack! Attack!
Even though this is a combined Tonight is Goodbye/Attack! Attack! tour, it seemed that the majority of the crowd in the bar were there to see Tonight is Goodbye when you consider the amount of screams and applause they lads received as they entered the stage. What is strange is that lead singer Ant and the lads were walking though the venue repeatedly as the other three bands performed before them and no one really seemed to bother chatting to them, they let them get on with their preparation. However, as soon as the guys got up on stage and began belting out their tunes, individuals went riot, screaming, holding out their hands to be touched, and even stormed the stage as the guys closed their set with one of their vibrant numbers ‘Black Dress’.
They knocked out some old tunes such as ‘You and Your Tune’ from their debut Ep ‘The Birds and the Bee’s’, tracks from their present ‘Castles’ record such as ‘Noughts and Crosses’, ‘Brain’, ‘Lucky Boy’ and their present single ‘Fire in the Hole’, as well as a new track.
This was a great night of music, with Tonight is Goodbye rounding up the evening extremely well. The only disappointment I had with their bands set was its duration. They never seem to play for that long. We want more tunes and a longer set and you’d get the fans even more mesmerised than they are.
