The Mission District at the O2 Islington Academy
My first impression of The Mission District was that they took to the stage as not just the ONLY support Elliot Minor had for this performance at the O2 Islington Academy, but as if it were their own headline show.
When this Canadian five piece were on stage they were in their element, performing and fulfilling their dreams with excitement and eagerness. The Mission District really put the E in energetic by being able to perform to such a degree that the fans were bouncing up and down, waving their arms from side to side and shouting for more. Mixing guitars and the occasional synth sound, they performed some of their own songs such as ‘So Over You’, ‘Somebody Promise Me’ and ‘The Best of You and Me’ as well as a rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘Just Dance’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean,’ which was the turning point of their set. They performed song after song and the crowd were hypnotized and enticed to sway and jump along. After this the fans were mesmerised and gave as much support as they could.
It is only a little while until the release of the Mission District’s debut single and they are back on UK shores in September with their own headline tour dates so be prepared.
