The All American Rejects play the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire

At the start of October, All American Rejects cancelled a few shows due to front man Tyson Ritter having knee surgery. Under direct orders from the doctor to postpone touring until he was fit as a fiddle, Tyson being an enthusiastic musician thought to hell with it and carried on. So, with a busted knee he took to the stage at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire with his fellow band mates and gave it everything he had. If there were ever to be a band to make your mouth drop, your heart race and your arms want to fly in the air for absolutely no reason, then All American Rejects is that very band.

With three album’s worth of material at their hands, the lads packed in more tunes than expected. Throughout their 90-minute set they were remarkable and more energetic than you could ever have imagined. To even begin to say what the highlights were is incredibly difficult as they were able to keep you engaged during every second. Fans were thoroughly captivated from the opener ‘Move Along’, through to the screams of ‘Swing Swing’ and ‘Dirty Little Secret’ to ‘Real World’, which was possibly the most intense performance. The ballad ‘When My World Comes Down’ automatically got phones in the air as light sources before the band gave and one of the finest exits possible with ‘Gives You Hell’. Bounding from side to side with a busted knee would have certainly left Tyson tired and in pain but never did he let it show.

Tyson and the lads are incredibly lucky as by the looks of it they have some very dedicated fans - jumping throughout, arms in the air, screaming and a mention of someone previously jumping from the balcony! When they return for another tour, it is guarantied to be another SOLD OUT performance, so get your hands on tickets quick, as it will be a night you’ll never forget!
