Intimate and stunning, a launch party to remember

The Windmill, located in a back street in Brixton, is a lovely little venue and something of a spiritual home for these three London boys, it is the place where Sleepercurve played their first ever gig and holds fond memories for all of them. Therefore it was the uncontested, perfect place for them to hold the launch party for their next single 'Robots'.

The band returned home to London, tonight, after the Scottish leg of their tour and set themselves up in the corner of a very funky room. The Windmill is small but has an undeniable style and vibe. Colourful in both decor and tales, it invites you to come along and add to its stories. Tonight, vocalist Dan Walsh, keyboard and bassist Mark Dixon and drummer Simon Tomes did just that, taking to to the stage they immediately launched in to a set filled with songs that captured everyone's attention and electrified the room.

In such an intimate venue the band can get right up close and personal with the crowd and Sleepercurve made the most of that. Their heartfelt passion for what they do spilled from the stage to every corner of the room, while The Windmill's brilliant acoustics played right into their hands letting the soaring, epic sound vibrate through the building and attuning every body to each nuance of each song. When these boys get together and play, you can't help but tap in to their vibe and be affected by the shimmering energy they create.

This is a band that are wonderful recorded but really come into their own live. They are natural performers and take the music to another level as soon as they stand up on the stage. Anyone in the general vicinity of their sound is drawn in and infected with the sheer joy that Sleepercurve exude when they play, they are an undeniably talented band who evoke many emotions with their music.

Filling the set with their best songs and playing a stunning version of the single that tonights party is all about, 'Robots', they had the crowd cheering and dancing non stop, and, as usual, caused a storm of bouncing and air punching with everyone's favourite 'Slaves'. Tonight was one of those stunning sets that you're glad you were a part of and one that stays in your memory forever.
