The Ordinary Boys
A bit too ordinary. Heavier rock than other bands we’ve seen so far, but sounding less tight, not so well practiced and with quite a teenage rocker-wannabe sound. However, they were very energetic, jumping round the stage and to be fair to them, they were standing in for Alfie who had cancelled, so perhaps not masses of rehearsal opportunities.
This doesn’t account for all their songs sounding very similar though or the not so wonderful vocals, but maybe it was just too heavy for the crowd, as they didn’t seem too interested either. With more confidence and experience they may have converted more fans and kept people’s interest more successfully.
If they were better known they may have had more impact, but very few seemed to know the songs, as they have no album, which made it too hard to get into. Only time will tell I suppose, but the potential is there.
