Unexpected but intriguing...
Well, after two pop rock bands perform on the stage, the third act for the evening was very different to what you may have expected.
Mavrickz is a duo from Hertfordshire, who create music described as Hippydi Hop/Pop. This basically translates as two fellas singing/rapping along and semi-dancing to some bloke controlling the music in the background. This may sound a little peculiar and at first this was the case. However, after the first couple of songs, you cannot help but be lured in by the passion and fun loving attitude these two have to what they are doing.
At one point there was an absolute explosion onstage when all the bands performing that evening squeezed onto the stage for a quick dance and sing along. It was at this point the crowd were likely thankful that Mavrickz had no instruments on stage. You may recognise the duo, Sean Lemon and Thomas Cahill from pop rock act Saving Aimee who split up last Christmas, although their stage presence and sound now is quite different. They may have looked a little odd sharing the stage alongside three acts who play they instruments brilliantly, but the Mavrickz more than made up for the lack of instruments with energy and enthusiasm.
