Puddle of Mudd at Soil & Puddle of Mudd
Puddle Of Mudd's entrance left a lot to be desired, it was completely low key and didn't exactly get the crowd going, however as they opened with 'Out Of My Head' and 'Control' which were both musically and vocally perfectly performed all was forgotten and it quickly became clear that Puddle Of Mudd have graduated from the school of rock.
Frontman Wes Scantlin spent the majority of the set with his foot propped up on a monitor, while guitarists Dizzi Devereux and Paul Philips stood on either side of the stage pulling guitar hero shapes.
Puddle Of Mudd have a much more commercial sound than Soil, and you could see Soil fans becoming restless throughout their set, but everyone reacted well to their hits 'She Hates Me' and 'Blurry'. The other big hit of the night was their cover of AC/DC's 'TNT' which was epic.
Puddle Of Mudd haven't toured the UK for nearly ten years, and I think anyone who was at Friday night's show agreed, it was worth the wait. The boys put on a stellar performance that could not be faulted.
I know Puddle Of Mudd aren't 'cool' anymore, but I was extremely impressed with re:(disc)overed, and seeing them live I'm happy to call myself a fan. They really got the crowd going, singing and clapping along. By the end of their set everyone in the room was on their side.
