Spit Like This Open the Night
The opening act for William Control as he plays the O2 Academy 2, Islington on The New Faith Tour was talented quartet Spit Like This.
The band is fronted by the confident, quirky Lord Zion who really makes a unique stand while on stage performing with his horror-punk band. His personality and character comes across in his stage performance as he assertively prances about the stage as the band performed tracks from throughout their discography.
This was highlighted even more by the bands rendition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show track Sweet Transvestite. The moment the movie was mentioned the crowd seemed to swell and really pay attention to a band that up until this moment had been little more than mediocre. As this track was performed band members gave their all, particularly Lord Zion who really made the crowd believe he could be a part of the musical. Throughout this track the crowd eagerly sang along and through the remainder of the set they excitedly showed the band some respect through their appreciation as they closed their set.
Although they began as a band with little going for them, after their Sweet Transvestite performance, Spit Like This certainly got some heads turning and some admirers in the wings.
