Crown The Empire live at Underworld

Texas-bred Crown The Empire were another eagerly awaited band, having not played to UK fans before, I was almost sure their set would cause a stir.

Suited up, they appeared on stage to open with an introduction and Walls from the first plucked string, I could tell these guys meant business; things kicked off to an explosive start pretty quickly and receiving a huge reaction from the over enthusiastic fans, their electrifying guitar riffs continued.
Vocalists David Escamilla and Andy Velasquez (Leo) displayed a fine set of lungs each, as they screamed out the lyrics to Wake Me Up with passion, as drummer Brent Taddie attacked his set vigorously with forceful beats and double-kicking.
Their set displayed intensity throughout, from the heavy bass lines to the crowd pleasing rhythms and stage presence was an evident strong point of theirs; as they went on to introduce the highly anticipated Johnny Ringo the crowd soon joined in with their heads banging and Crown The Empire's popularity increased.

Although they're considered an overcrowded genre, mixing electronically infused hardcore metal with a trance flavouring and perhaps being a tad over the top with their polished persona; they showed the crowd just what they were made of and delivered a set of imaginatively different tracks.
