One Big Happy Tour - Bowling For Soup
Two things happen every October; 1. We celebrate Halloween and 2. Bowling For Soup head to the UK and this time they're on the One Big Happy tour.
Not breaking from tradition, what I can only describe as their entry theme started playing leading to the crowd excitedly and familiarly start chanting "Here come Bowling For Soup!".
Having celebrated their 18th birthday earlier this year, Bowling For Soup did a marvellous job of filling their set with songs from their entire discography, which was a treat for fans, young and old. The Texan rockers also informed the crowd that they were the band you can wave to, and each one of them took several opportunities to wave back to their adoring crowd throughout the night.
A Bowling For Soup show would not be complete without them singing the hit song that they never wrote or released; Stacey's Mom by Fountains Of Wayne. Of course, all of Bowling For Soup's hit songs featured in their set list too, from Girl All The Bad Guys Want to the more recent Turbulance.
During Punk Rock 101 it was time for the ever popular Bowling For Soup photo opportunity where the band stop playing, Van Halen's Jump is pumped across the room and the band prance around the stage, posing for photos. Once posing was completed and pink cowboy hats were returned safely to their owners in the crowd, Bowling For Soup picked up Punk Rock 101 exactly where they left off.
Year after year Bowling For Soup put on a sterling live performance for their UK fans, and 2012 was no different. One Big Happy was exactly what it said; one big happy show.
